Atmospheric Corrosion of Silver and Silver Nanoparticles

نویسندگان

چکیده

Even though it is a noble metal, silver will corrode in ambient atmospheres, predominantly by reacting with sulfur-containing gases such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbonyl (OCS) to form the (Ag2S) acanthite. Other aspects of environment, relative humidity presence oxidizing species, also play critical role. With emergence nanoparticles for range technological medical applications, there has been revival interest corrosion behavior this important metal. This article reviews current understanding atmospheric both bulk nanoparticle forms. Gaps our areas future investigation are identified.

development of different optical methods for determination of glucose using cadmium telluride quantum dots and silver nanoparticles

a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...

Aquatic Toxicity Comparison of Silver Nanoparticles and Silver Nanowires

To better understand the potential ecotoxicological impact of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and silver nanowires (AgNWs) released into freshwater environments, the toxicities of these nanomaterials were assessed and compared using Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) test guidelines, including a "Daphnia sp., acute immobilization test," "Fish, acute toxicity test," and "f...

Dithiocarbamate-capped silver nanoparticles.

Nanometer-sized silver particles were synthesized by using didecylamine dithiocarbamates as the protecting ligands. With control of the initial ligand-metal feed ratios, the core diameter of the resulting particles was found to vary from about 5 to 2.5 nm, as determined by transmission electron microscopic measurements. The core size dispersity was also found to decrease with increasing feed ra...

Silver Nanoparticles from Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis of Aqueous Silver Nitrate

Silver particles less than 20 nm in diameter were synthesized by pyrolysis of an ultrasonically atomized spray of highly dilute aqueous silver nitrate solution at temperatures above 650◦C and below the melting point of silver. Feed solution concentration and ultrasound power applied to the atomizer were found to have a significant impact on the particle size of the silver nanoparticles. Average...
